Now that you have invested the effort to set up your checklists, let’s see one in action. Please review the Settings: Checklists video, if needed.
Let’s make an appointment for a residential customer in need of septic tank pumping. Start on the property page. Click Make an Appointment. Answer the question “What needs to be done?” Select Pump Septic tank and click NEXT.
Once on the Schedule, we will drag it to the preferred service date and truck. Let’s click the appointment box to record the details and use the checklist in the process.
Upon arrival, we capture the current time. We do the work, being careful to observe the condition of various components. We record the pump volume, in this case 950 gallons.
Now we turn our attention to the checklist area, which is intentionally locked to protect against accidental touches or swipes when using a tablet in the field.
First we unlock the area to allow data entry.
We will quickly enter the responses to each of the items in the checklist, based on our observations in the field.
Before proceeding, please note how technician notes will change in response to the checklist selections.
Because nearly everything was found to be in normal condition, only a tap on SELECT ALL is needed to check off all the normal findings.
Note how the Technician Notes auto-populates the pre-selected phrases associated with each response.
Any exceptions to the normal findings can now be entered. Note how the text in the Technician Notes changes instantly when a response is changed.
Please note that you are still free to add any additional recommendations into the Technicians notes field below the auto-text, as shown.
When you are finished entering your checklist responses, lock the area and you are ready to complete the invoice and move on.
