Turn-By-Turn Instructions

Updated over 2 months ago

Tank Track’s routing page helps you get to the next destination in three ways.

First, written turn-by-turn instructions are provided by Google Maps. These are readily available for technicians in the field using a tablet.

If you are not using a tablet, you can print these instructions along with your invoices and work orders.

Audible turn by turn instructions are also available in two ways. Note that Tank Track presents every address on the optimized route as a hyperlink.

If you are using a tablet in the field, tapping on the next address will activate the default mapping program already on the tablet to provide audible turn-by-turn instructions.

If you don’t have a tablet, you can email the final list of linked addresses to each technician at the start of the day. Accessing that email with a cell phone and tapping the next address link will also provide audible turn by turn instructions.

The EMAIL box will appear active if 3 conditions are met.

First, you have to activate this feature in SETTINGS by going to section 5 of Email Options.

Second, your technician must have an email on file in the USERS section of Settings.

Finally, the Super administrator must authorize the technician to receive these emails by checking the Send Routes by Email checkbox as shown.

If you are using a tablet and want to see more detail on the map, you can collapse one or both left-sided columns to maximize screen area. The columns can be easily restored with a simple click or tap.
