Prevent Audits with the Waste Manifest

Updated over 2 months ago

Tank Track offers a special feature on the waste manifest designed to protect you from a specific type of audit.

Some waste facilities measure the waste volume that you deliver rather than take your word for it. In some cases, facility operators are required to file pump reports for each septic company directly to state officials.

In some locations, the state will compare the pump data that you submit for each facility with the facility’s report on the volume you delivered. If a discrepancy is found, it can trigger an audit and possible harsh penalties.

To avoid this audit trap, Tank Track provides an optional field on each manifest where you can enter the waste volume as determined by the facility. That number is then compared to the sum of the pump volumes you entered on all the invoices and the difference is displayed.

Once you see the difference, you have the option to adjust any or all of the pump volumes right here on the manifest until your manifest total volume exactly matches the facility’s measurement

By design, when you adjust a pump volume on any waste manifest, you automatically change the pump volume on each individual invoice so that all of your internal records will be perfectly consistent.

If you operate in an area subject to this type of audit, this feature should help you avoid this painful experience.
