Checklists

Updated over 2 months ago

INTRODUCTION

Tank Track offers you the tools to create customized checklists for each major service you offer.

These powerful checklists help technicians be more thorough, capture more relevant information, and educate customers — all in much less time.

To activate your checklists, go to Settings, then Checklists.

In section one, select the Activate checkbox and SAVE CHANGES.

KEY PARTS OF EACH CHECKLIST

You can best understand the parts of a checklist by looking at the blank first row of a checklist already in progress.

Each row of the Holding Tank checklist contains a separate Item Field in which to list the topics that you want your technicians to address with each visit.

For each item, you can enter between one and four responses.

You should always place the normal or expected condition in the first position on the left.

You have the option to enter an appropriate comment that will be shared with customers for every response in your checklists.

When a technician on the job checks a particular response, the associated comment is automatically populated into the Technician Notes, which are automatically included in all invoices and receipts sent to your customers by email or in print.

You can add as many items per checklist as you wish.

CREATE A NEW CHECKLIST

To create a new checklist, go to section 2, and click or tap “Add checklist.”

Enter a checklist title... and check the Auto-fill Technician Notes checkbox.

In the Item field, enter “Confirm Address.” In the first two response fields enter “Confirmed” and “Unsure.”

Add the phrase “Address confirmed” in the first comment box.

Now click ADD ITEM and repeat the process of entering items, responses, and comments.

You can also sort the order of your checklist by dragging and dropping each row into your preferred order. The order in which you save the items is the order in which they will appear on your invoices.

Once your checklists are made, be sure to Save Changes.

Then go to Products and Services. The last step is to use the drop-down menu to tell Tank Track the services to which a checklist should be attached.

In this case, the Septic pump checklist should be attached to all septic pump jobs. And the holding tank checklist should be attached to the holding tank pump jobs.

Be sure to save Changes before leaving.

To further assist you in building your checklists, your checklist page contains a sample checklist …. As well as a graphic with step-by-step instructions.

Tank Track’s powerful checklists are force multipliers, which help you do more in less time. Investing the time and effort to set them up and use them will pay dividends.
