Trucks

Updated over 2 months ago

Adding a new truck is easy. Just click or tap the add new truck button.

Then add a unique truck name, Enter the capacity in gallons, and select a unique color.

The date placed in service field is only available to you when you first set up the truck.

For initial setup, set the date placed in service at least 3 to 5 years in the past (unless you are a newer company) to preserve the option to enter past appointments and assign them to a truck.

This would be helpful if, for instance, you want to enter all the jobs from January 1st of this year to the current date, or enter all of last year’s jobs.

If you’re already completely set up in Tank Track and are actually just adding a new truck at some point in the future, then enter the actual date placed in service to accurately reflect history.

Next you should select a truck icon.

Then select a default technician from your list of technicians.

If you have not added any technicians yet, please go back to the Users page in Settings and add at least one technician.

To assign a default technician that varies by day of the week, click the Create Weekly Schedule section to override the default technician selected above, if needed.

Be sure to click Save Truck before leaving this page to save your changes.

If you have a 4-truck company, once you have finished setting up all of your trucks, it may look something like this: SEE VIDEO

The top-to-bottom order of the trucks on this page determines the left-to-right order of your trucks on the day schedule. Drag and drop your trucks into your preferred order as shown.

Additional Tips

  • Name: What nickname would you like to use for this truck? Truck names only appear on the Tank Track schedule so your customers will not see them. (Note: Truck names may contain up to 10 characters.)

  • Gallons: Each truck's capacity will appear next to the truck name on the schedule as a reminder. It will also be used to calculate whether consecutive appointments will generate too much volume for one truckload, and alert you about when to add a waste receiving facility to the schedule. If you have a truck (or car) that is not a pumper, you can enter zero.

  • Color: Choose a color you want to represent this truck (and all appointments assigned to this truck) on the schedule.

  • Icon: Choose a truck icon you want to represent this truck on the schedule.

  • Save: Don't forget to click or tap "SAVE TRUCK" to save your changes and you're done!
